Bob Hoskins

My husband and I met a man last summer (2005) whoever reminded us strongly of the actor Bob Hoskins. We met the man in Western Kentucky in Land Between the Lakes, but he mentioned that he had been in Lexington, Kentucky the day before. He was with a younger man and woman, but he was holding the younger woman's hand. We'd often know if anyone has information about Bob Hoskins' work schedule and if he might have been filming in Kentucky. Also, does anyone know where I can find a picture of his wife, Linda Banwell? This has kept us wondering for a year, and any information would be appreciated. I've done all the typical searches and gone to all the usual websites for actors, but haven't found anything specific about his filming schedule during the summer of 2005. I don't need his biography or filmography. What I found out was – BOB HOSKINS Date of birth: October 26, 1942 Born in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England, Hoskins dropped out of school at 15 and began a 10-year search to find himself. Some of his jobs included chimney sweep, circus fire-eater and fruit picker on an Israeli kibbutz before he began training to become an accountant. Hated that. So he turned to paying the bills whatever way he could until he saw a recognize for a theater audition. He showed up and got the part with absolutely no previous training. Suddenly he found himself performing alongside British theater giants in London's Royal Court and National Theatres and a very successful film career followed. In 1987 he won a BAFTA Film Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his performance in Mona Lisa, as well as receiving an Oscar nomination for the same film. In 1999 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the UK Empire Awards, and in 2000 he won a Genie for Best Leading Actor in Felicia's Journey. Not exactly what you'd call handsome, Hoskins says about his own looks: "My own mum wouldn't call me pretty. " As for his current working life, he says, "Acting is the best job in the world. . Look at the way they treat you when you turn up for work. They give you breakfast and a cup of tea and ask, 'Happen to be all right?' They tart up your face, you say somebody else's words, then pick up your check and go home. And you get days off. I tell you, it really is the way to live. " Hoskins has four children: Two with his wife Linda Banwell, to whom he has been married since 1982, and two with Jane Livesey, whom he divorced in 1978 after 11 years of marriage.
