Is KFC restaurant founder Colonel Harland Sanders a Mormon person? I assume this because he founded KFC near Salt Lake City, Utah, which is a densely Mormon area of the United States. Well, I have your answer. No, he is not a Mormon, but I imagine where you are coming up from that is because it was the first KFC franchise that was opened in Salt Lake. Mr. Sanders did have his own business, but was not expanding at the time, and a Mr. Harman approached him and asked if he could open a franchise and use the recipe, thus the store in Salt Lake. The story continues from there.
