Count Basie

I have a school project on Count Basie and the only things I can find that are only about him are about his whole life and I only need to know about him in the Renaissance. If you could also provide a link that would be good too. . I was happy to learn… Assuming the Renaissance lasted into the mid 30's,. . Then this came, just after the Renaissance. But Count Basie brought the sound of Stomp music. This was the sound of Kansas City. It was in reaction to the swing music which had taken over everything in the late 30's. In swing they usually didn't have any solos. Whereas Stomp allowed the musicians to get down some,. . & show their skills. Check out Stompin' at the Woodside: .
