Hello everyone I've got a question for all my experienced artists' out there. I have to do a presentation on H. R. Giger for my Art Appreciation Class and my instructor has asked that we include contemporaries of the artist that we chose. I have looked high and low for artist's that drew similar to Giger and I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know any artist's that were like him? Any info would greatly be appreciated.. Thank you so much. Essentially — H R Giger's syle of art is categorised as 'Fantastic Realism'. Other artists that fall into this category include the members of The Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. These include Ernst Fuchs, Arik Brauer, Rudolf Hausner, Wolfgang Hutter, Anton Lehmden and Fritz Janschka, who were all students of Professor Albert Paris Gtersloh at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. Giger himself is a huge collector of (surreal) art and his personal collection and museum includes Salvador Dali, Ernst Fuchs, Dado, Bruno Weber, Gnther Brus, Claude Sandoz, Franois Burland, Friedrich Kuhn, Joe Coleman, Sibylle Ruppert, Andre Lassen (his cutlery is amazing.), Hans Bellmer, Fred Knecht, Stelio Diamantopoulos, Martin Schwarz, Claude Sandoz, Franois Burland and Victor Safonkin Amongst this list of people who Giger has been influenced by or admires (particularly Fuchs and I think also the sculptures of Andre Lassen and Dado), you should find plenty to write about. See links below Hope this helps EDIT – also found link to H R Giger Museum, which might be useful
It is the first time you will be able to see Giger's paintings processed digitally in high resolution quality, 3D animated and together with original film mu. . .
